The CARBON EXPO (26-28 May 2015), hosted annually since 2004, is a large multi-sectoral climate finance and carbon market conference and fair. With the evolution of the carbon markets over the years, it is a platform for facilitating innovation, promoting enhanced understanding of new policy instruments and identifying ways to access and leverage climate finance, especially between countries facing comparable challenges. The programme is available here.

CARBON EXPO 2015, scheduled only six months prior to the COP 21 in Paris, aims to be the most prominent public and private sector gathering, tailored to discuss the urgent needs of development clients, partners and of the international community leading up to the climate negotiations. Elements of CARBON EXPO 2015 include:

  • Open discussion between key players in the climate change process in an informal setting, just months from the COP in Paris
  • Beyond Carbon Markets, new financial and market tools
  • Monetary, fiscal and climate change policy
  • Institutional presence of the Green Climate Fund
  • Participation of senior officials from key countries in the climate change discussion
  • Emphasis on private sector participation in the climate change dialogue on the road to Paris
  • Industry representatives and associations from key developing countries will be present at the exhibition and participate in the conference
  • Leading companies showcasing their latest technology developments
